It is a common belief among men that size of the penis is very critical. In so many cases, the size of the penis decides the confidence level of a man about his sexuality or sexual drive. Though this concept is quite far-fetched, the penile size does matter to a lot of men. And most men out there want their tool to be bigger or longer than its current state.

The process of jelqing involves massaging of the penis, which causes penis growth by driving blood into the penile duct. It is similar to vacuum pumping and causes the tissues of the penis to expand thereby encouraging the fabrication of proteins, which build tissues. However it is not an overnight process at all.

Besides jelqing, a lot of people also try pills and patches. Pills supposedly increase the quantity of androgens like testosterone. This in turn increases the male libido, which evidently causes erections to be harder and longer.

As against this, products like vasodilators work by provisionally causing the blood vessels in the penile area to expand. This allows more blood inflow to the penis, which looks bigger and better. However most of effects from such products are found to be temporary.

Though penis enlargement surgery also doesn’t guarantee permanent results, a lot of men undergo it, as it is less time consuming. However the success rate of penis enlargement surgery is also not very high. If the surgery doesn’t go according to plans things might seriously go worse than before. For instance, it can lead to decrease in libido and problems with erection. Besides it might ironically lead to shortening of the penis.

Another downside is that the appearance of the penis might become a little odd than usual. After surgery, it might seem that the penis is emerging right out of the testicles. Also in the absence of a firm anchor, the penis won’t be able to stay erect on its own and might pivot in a weird manner.

In penis enlargement surgery, the portion of the penis that is inside the body is brought outside, which gives the impression of a bigger penis. So it works fine till the penis is flaccid, as it will make it seem longer when it is not erect.

However, when the penis is erect, the change is hardly significant. The penis enlargement surgery can only boost the self-confidence of an individual, though it doesn’t really improve the sexual drive or decide the stamina of a man during sex.

So in all, surgery might seem a short cut to a longer and bigger penis, the implications can be much more severe than expected.
