Every person tries to look young tries all measures to extend life, reverse the aging process, and live forever. However, there is no such magic pill that can turn back the clock and make a person young once again. Recent scientific innovation in the field of human growth hormone (HGH or Somatotropin) has invented insulin-like growth hormone 1 (IGF-1). Since there is a direct connection between the level of this HGH hormone in a human’s body, and their age, many scientists feel that if this hormone could be kept at the levels of youth, then the aging process could certainly be slowed down, or even stopped altogether.

The new discovery of this insulin is administered via injection; however, many sellers are trying to earn profits through the hormone in pill, spray, and homeopathic forms. Although the cost of the product in these forms may only be 5% of the cost of injection treatments, the effectiveness of these others forms remains questionable.

Before purchasing growth hormone pills it is necessary to understand what the growth hormone does in the human body. The growth hormone occurs naturally in the human body and not unexpectedly it regulates body’s growth both in terms of height and sexual maturity. The human growth hormone forms in the pituitary gland located within the brain and it instructs the body to manufacture bone, muscle and cartilage and most importantly human metabolism.

The growth hormone insulin was first used in the mid fifties and by the early sixties to treat children with stunted growth. In those days since the science was not so advanced to create the pills that are available today, it was said to be extracted and processed from the pituitary glands from dead bodies.

There are several side effects one has to deal with since these growth hormone pills create high levels of hormones. The human body regulates all its hormones and most are produced in the medium range, high doses of hormones do not appear naturally in the body. The endocrine system is not used to dealing with such high levels of hormones. In such a situation, not only does the muscle grow but the organs such as the heart liver and kidneys also increase in size, which can lead to an irregular heart murmur and in certain cases the heart loses its ability to pump blood which is potentially life threatening.

Other less serious but still harmful side effects of human growth hormone pills are joint pains, fluid retention and high blood pressure. One has to remember that these pills are steroids and excess steroids within the body can cause problems. One of the first effects is that once they are introduced artificially the body shuts down its own production and once you begin to take them you have to take them for life.

The benefits of HGH are very real, but so are the side effects; It is up to the individual to decide whether the possible benefits outsmart the possible side effects.
