Now days everyone wants to look fit and lean. However in the fast day-to-day life, it is very difficult to maintain a strict fitness regime. Consequently people use various methods and techniques to achieve a fit looking body with minimal time and effort spent.
The concept of 3-Day Diet is one such popular fad diet followed by a lot of people today. Most people who want to loose weight for a short-term period as quickly as possible adopt it. Unfortunately the weight loss is temporary and people end up being like before pretty soon.
A meal plan for 3 days is basically called 3-Day Diet. It is believed that one who adopts it loses 5 kilos in just 3 days. This, however, seems inaccurate and impractical, as different individuals have different requirements in terms of calories based on their rate of metabolism.
Though, the diet plan is mainly comprised of very low calorie diet (VLCD), still it maintains a sensible balance of fats, carbohydrates and essential proteins. So although it seems that weight loss is due to drop in calories owing to fats, in real a person loses weight because of water loss.
The 3-Day Diet is not advisable for more than 3 days as it might cause serious repercussions. The diet plan leads to sudden drop in weight, which can be quite harmful for the body in long run.
Even though 3-Day Diet is like a crash course, certain things should still be kept in mind. One should drink at least 4 glasses of water or other diet drinks every day. Ingredients like salt, pepper, vinegar, herbs, lemon and mustard can be used as per one desires.
Some enthusiasts indicate that the diet is successful because of the specific combinations of different food items. This, they say, increases the rate of metabolism thereby burning calories at a faster rate than usual. However, no evidence of scientific nature is present to support this theory. Weight loss actually can be attributes to the low intake of 1000 calories a day. The flip side to this diet is, than once normal eating habits are resumed weight loss is not maintained.
Instead of a life long healthy plan for eating, most experts refer to the 3-Day Diet plan as a fad diet, which is temporary.
Due to the restrictive nature of the diet, most dieters fail to follow it and feel depressed after that. However it is not possible to continue fad diets for a long period of time, which causes frustration for the dieter, though it is not the dieter that is to be blamed, but the diet itself.
It is important for dieters to realize the fact that weight loss with 3-Day Diet is possible but not for long. It does not help a healthy living as every time the individual goes back to normal eating habits, it creates a yo-yo dieting approach to weight loss, in the long term.
So, instead of a quick fix solution it is always better to imbibe a better lifestyle.
