Life is full of crazy situations and too many stresses that are difficult to handle.  Stress is so much a part of our culture that it is considered normal.  While stress itself is not bad, a lot of stress can take a toll on your body.  A little stress can help motivate you and get your mind working but too much can make your body go into panic mode.  If this is your life then you need to put your nerves back in balance.  Learn how to stop too much stress from harming you and learn the symptoms of stress and how to lower the effects of bad stress.

Your body goes in fight or flight mode when your body feels threatened.  This brings on stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol.  These are used for emergency situations.  This can make your senses work better, your blood pressure rise, muscles tighten and our heart beat faster.  These changes to your physical self are suppose to help you with your reaction and help you to focus.  This is a natural response you body goes through.  This is supposed to protect you and keep you from danger.  The problem is, many people go into this mode when they do not need to.  It can hinder your quality of life because you are always in this mode.  It is harmful to your body and to your mental state of mind.

This type of stress is called chronic stress.  Since your body doesn’t understand the difference between physical and mental threats- you can be stressed out all of the time.  If you have a lot of mental and psychological stress than you are always in panic mode.  When you are in stress mode for a long time you can get major health issues.

Some of the symptoms that you can get from this long term exposure to stress are raised blood pressure, lowered immune system, higher risk of heart attacks and strokes, and aging faster.  You brain can even suffer and you can get major anxiety and depression issues.  Some very obvious symptoms are when you quickly get angry and are too emotional, when you are depressed and withdrawn and when you have no response to stress and you don’t do anything under pressure.

If you find that you are having problems and symptoms of stress then you should seek some professional help.  See your doctor and have them diagnose you and give you a treatment plan.  The most important thing that helps the curb stress symptoms is to do relaxing things to calm you mind and body.  One great idea is yoga.  This can calm you and also calm your body.

Another thing that can help is to see a mental professional like a psychiatrist.  Sometimes your mind has been under so much stress that you may not even realize the effects that it has had.  Have a professional help you to de-stress your mind so you can be healthy and happy and unstressed.
